Sundance Sentry 724 Diplays Errors "OH" - "SN3"

Q: I have a Sundance SPA with the Balboa Sentry 724 Circuit Board. Initially I had an overheat code "OH" and I then reset the panel. Immeadiately following the reset the "Sn3" code appeared for the high temp limit switch.  I replaced the hi temp limit switch but the code still remains.  I checked and I do have 240V going to the spa. I also swaped out the top panel display (since I had an old working one), no luck here.   I replaced the circuit board about 4 yrs ago so I do not suspect the circuit board.  What else could be causing this?  I hate to try a replacement board not knowing for sure that this is the problem. Is there any test I can perform to verify if it is the board or something else.

A: On a 724 board SN3 is the temp sensor not the high limit. The temp sensor can get you an OH if it gets whacky enough.  I believe a new temp sensor will fix your troubles. You can verify this if by ohm testing both sensors, if they are working correctly they will have similar ohm readings. If they are very different then one of them is bad.

Q: I have a 11.5 KW Islander Electric heater in my spa.  It has and seems to be losing its ability to heat.  I can not get the spa temp above 98 degrees.  I suspect I need a new element.  How do I check to see if that is my problem and to you have what I need.

Matching a Waterway Jet

Q: Hello I have a leisure bay spa that I am trying to replace all the pulsator mini jets in bone color on. it's a waterway jet part # 216-1040. Do you have any or is there a replacement for them in the bone color ? Any help you could provide me with would be appreciated.

Spa Pack Tripping the Circuit Breaker

Q: I have a Master Spa with a balboa WH MAS25-CCAJ CONTROL PACK that is blowing the breaker at the house. Where do I start looking for a bad component?

A: It is important to distinguish whether you have a GFI breaker or a regular breaker. I will assume for now you have a GFI breaker on it that has a "test" button, if it is a regular breaker we have to have a completely different discussion.

The most common cause of GFI tripping is the heater element. I your recommend you disconnect the wiring from both heater element terminals and see if you stop tripping. The other this you can do is one at a time disconnect all the individual devices (blower, ozonator, etc.) from the control box and try running the others. Let me know what you find.
