Q: I have a Clearwater sand filter and I can't get any answers from the company so maybe you can help...the filter has a waste port for vacuuming but a ton of water comes out when I vacuum. Should I be filling the pool as I vacuum with the amount of water coming out or do you vacuum while in filter mode? The directions for the pump itself is vary vague. Thanks for your help...
A: When you use waste, it bypasses the filter completely and dumps the water out of the backwash. So you will be losing the entire output of the pump. You do not have to be in waste to filter, we only do that if the pool is extremely dirty and we want to just get rid of the dirt or whatnot.
